Everybody Loves a Happy Ending

This is the part where our heroes return home.  Our grand reunion was a half-day earlier than expected, which was a surprise to Miss Donna, and the end of two long days for Kevin and Mom and Dad.  As I said, once we get within "range" on the way home, there's no sense sightseeing, but more importantly, I couldn't take it any longer.  I needed to hold my sweetie.  We ran and ran and ran for two days, and pulled in around 7pm Friday.

The kids were out on the deck drinking a beer when I pulled up to the lake house.  Harley the dog, who I was sure was happy in the thought that I was never coming back, came *charging* out to greet me.  Donna came out of the house and the motorcycle pulling into the back of the property didn't even register at first.  And then, it was a slow-motion reunion like in the movies.  And there's your happy ending!

We had a great weekend in the Poconos, and got a fairly early start to return home early in the afternoon.  The nice thing was, I didn't have to load anything but my ass on the bike; everything else got thrown in the truck.

And here we are.  Total mileage was 8,976.  Number of states was 22.  Overnight stops were:

Plainfield, IN
Carthage, MO
Oklahoma City, OK
Tucumcari, NM
Albuquerque, NM
Mexican Hat, UT
Flagstaff, AZ
Kingman, AZ
Las Vegas, NV

And there's 30 days on the road.  Lots more to come over the next few days- lots of cool pix and neat little stories.  But right now, time to finish unpacking, get Gretchen cleaned up, and get a good night's sleep.

Good to be home!
